2 Men Shot In Targeted Attack, Suspects At Large: Park Forest PD
The incident happened Tuesday afternoon in the 200 block of Allegheny, police said.
PARK FOREST, IL β Two men were shot while sitting inside a car Tuesday, in what Park Forest police believe to have been a targeted attack.
The two men, ages 18 and 28, were hit by gunfire while inside a vehicle parked in a driveway in the 200 block of Allegheny, police said Wednesday.
Park Forest Police Officers and firefighter/paramedics arrived and rendered aid to both victims, including placing a tourniquet on the arm of the 18-year-old, police said. Both victims were taken to Saint James Franciscan Hospital and later to Stroger Hospital.

Police said an investigation revealed the two victims were sitting in the vehicle when another vehicle, described as a black sedan, stopped in the road nearby. Three armed males wearing masks and gloves got out of the black sedan and began shooting at the victims. Both victims were struck by gunfire and the sedan fled.
"Our information indicates this attack was not random and that one of the victims was targeted," police said. "While no arrests have yet been made, there is no known ongoing threat to the general public."

The 18-year-old from Park Forest is in stable condition, and the 28-year-old from Steger was treated and released.
