Chicago Heights Ministers Form New Council

Clergy representing various congregations and denominations met on Monday February 7th, 2011 in Chicago Heights and formed the Chicago Heights Area Ministerial Council.   The purpose of the council is to unite area churches in an effort to address the spiritual, social and economic issues that face their communities.  Area clergy have expressed their commitment to work in harmony to address such issues.  Chicago Heights area pastors and ministers voted unanimously to elect Rev. Lawrence Blackful Jr. as president of the council.  The Chicago Heights Area Ministerial Council and its members have NO affiliation with any other area ministerial alliances.  The following Clergy were present: Pastor Dr. James R. Flint Sr. of Union Evangelistic Baptist Church, Chief Apostle Dr. William McCoy of My Brother’s Keeper Outreach Church & IPAE Network, Rev. Lawrence Blackful Jr.  of St. Bethel Baptist Church, Pastor Diane Smith of Baker Memorial CME church, Apostle John Zartuche of My Father’s House of All Nations, Pastor Walter Mosby of Greater Faith Baptist Church, Pastor Edward Goodwin of Goodwin Memorial Cathedral, Pastor James Morgan of Macedonia Baptist Church, Pastor Rick Dorsey of Beacon Hill Baptist Church, Pastor Brian O’Neil of Christian Concepts International Ministries, Pastor Matthew Amos of New Hope Baptist Church, and Rev. Lorrain Cooper-Chinn of St. Bethel Baptist Church

The Council will hold a special service on March 10th 2011 at 7pm, to install its newly elected officers.  This service will be held at Goodwin Memorial Cathedral located at 276 E. 16th Street in Chicago Heights. All are invited to attend.
