The program, hosted by Master of Ceremony Brandon Kenard, a proud member of the Chicago Heights (IL) Alumni Chapter, set the tone for an unforgettable night of reflection, recognition, and fellowship. The evening’s soundtrack was expertly curated by DJ Malik Shabazz of 106.3 Chicago, also a member of the Chicago (IL) Alumni Chapter, who kept the celebration lively and energetic.

One of the most touching moments of the evening came as the chapter paid tribute to its 50-plus-year Brothers, recognizing their enduring commitment and legacy within the fraternity. Honorees included James Wilder, John Hawkins, Gladstone Trotter, James Silas, George Lofton, Landon Fisher, and Charles Clayton — each a living example of Kappa’s motto, Achievement in Every Field of Human Endeavor.

The highlight of the night was the inspiring keynote address delivered by Kevin Scott, Grand Historian of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. His message emphasized the importance of legacy, mentorship, and the continued duty of Kappas everywhere to uplift the communities they serve.

The success of the event was a testament to the leadership and vision of Polemarch Jermaine G. Morales, under whose direction the Chicago Heights Alumni Chapter continues to thrive and uphold the ideals of Kappa Alpha Psi.

The weekend of celebration began earlier on Thursday, October 23, 2025, with the chapter’s signature community service initiative, “Room to Read,” at Jefferson Elementary School in Chicago Heights, IL. This program, aimed at promoting literacy and mentorship among young students, perfectly embodied the fraternity’s guiding principle of service to others.

Together, these momentous events reflected not only the chapter’s proud past but also its unwavering commitment to the future — ensuring that the spirit of Achievement, Brotherhood, and Service continues to shine brightly for generations to come.
