Chicago Heights Man, 23, Charged With DUI In Wrong Way Crash
The crash happened last month on I-55 northbound near I-94, Illinois State Police said Wednesday.
CHICAGO HEIGHTS, IL — A Chicago Heights man was charged with aggravated DUI after police say he drove the wrong way on I-55 and struck another car.
Illinois State Police were called March 18 at 4:12 a.m. for a report of a crash involving a wrong way driver on I-55 northbound near I-94 in Cook County. A silver Jeep was traveling on Interstate 55 southbound in the northbound lanes and struck a gray Chevrolet truck.

The driver of the Jeep, identified as Javier Segura, 23, of Chicago Heights, and the driver of the Chevrolet were both taken to an area hospital with injuries.

On April 23, ISP agents took Segura into custody. He was charged with two counts of aggravated driving under the influence causing great bodily harm.
Segura is being held pending a detention hearing.
