Chicago Heights Man, 26, Stabbed To Death, 1 In Custody: Police
The incident happened Monday on 15th Street. The suspect barricaded himself before surrendering, police said.
CHICAGO HEIGHTS, IL — A 26-year-old Chicago Heights man died Monday after being stabbed multiple times, Chicago Heights Police said.
On Monday, Aug. 19 at approximately 6 p.m., police were called for a report of a battery in progress on the 100 block of West 15th Street. Police found a man later identified by the Cook County Medical Examiner as Erik Depillars, 26, with multiple stab wounds. Depillars was taken to Franciscan Health in Olympia Fields, where he was pronounced dead.
The suspect then barricaded himself inside his residence. He was taken into custody with the assistance of the South Suburban Emergency Response Team.
