Chicago Heights Park District To Host 'Trunk Or Treat'
As an alternative event this Halloween, the Chicago Heights Park District will be hosting a socially distanced trick or treating event.
CHICAGO HEIGHTS, IL β The Chicago Heights Park District is trying to make Halloween a little less scary in 2020. Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, many around the country are wondering how to observe the holiday while practicing social distancing. The park district came up with the idea to host a "Trunk or Treat" event.
The event will have residents drive out to the East Golf Course Parking Lot, 315 Glenwood Road, Chicago. The event is a drive-up where vendors can pass out candy to kids as cars drive past festive cars and scenes, according to the park district.
The event will take place on Saturday, Oct. 31 from 4-6 p.m., or while supplies last. Cars can begin to line up at 3 p.m. The event is free of charge and is hosted with the Exodus Project and State Representative, Anthony DeLuca, according to the park district.
