District 227 Will Feed Kids During Coronavirus School Closings

Breakfast and lunch for kids will be available at the three district high schools on certain dates.

MATTESON, IL β€” Free drive-up "grab and go" meals will be available outside the three high schools in Rich Township High School District 227. The meals are available to anyone 18 years old and younger.

Parents can pick up the meals outside Rich East High School, 300 Sauk Trail in Park Forest; Rich South High School, 5000 Sauk Trail in Richton Park and Rich Central High School, 3600 W. 203rd St. in Olympia Fields from 10-11 a.m. on March 17, 19, 23, 25, 27 and 30. There will be two grab-and-go breakfast and lunch meals handed out.

Signs will be posted outside of buildings with food pickup instructions. Children do not need to be present.

The meals will be available to "all families in the community" regardless of their affiliation with District 227, according to a news release from the school.
