PSC Forensics Team Finishes Strong

Prairie State College's Forensics Team wrapped up an incredible 2010-11 season with three members taking home national accolades, including one championship medal, at the Phi Rho Pi National Championship from April 11-16 in Greenwich, Conn.
         
Hannah Grasse, of Flossmoor, won the national championship in Persuasive Speaking. Nadia Crawley, of Lynwood, received bronze medals in Communication Analysis, Informative Speaking and Persuasive Speaking. Adriana Carr, of Park Forest, received a bronze medal in Prose Interpretation.

South Chicago Heights Library Celebrates Earth Day

South Chicago Heights Library patrons celebrated Earth Day last week by planting seeds and flowers at the library.

Seeking volunteers ages 21 and older

Bethel Community Facility is seeking volunteers for our homeless shelter. The shelter is currently open twice a week; Wednesday and Thursday evening. Doors open at 6pm for the evening and are locked for entry at 9pm. Volunteers should be 21 years of age or older. For questions/details, please call 708-758-5585.

2 PSC Students Named to Coca-Cola All-Academic Team

Two Prairie State College students were named 2011 Coca-Cola Community College Academic Team Scholars through Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society.

Chidinma Nwakanma, of Park Forest, was selected a gold scholar. Evan Rugen, of Flossmoor, was selected a silver scholar.
