Theft of Air Conditioner Parts

Two air conditioner condensers, worth $1,200, were stolen from a business in the first block of Illinois Street, according to a report. Police found a piece of chain used to lock up the fence was cut. The air conditioner was last reported working on April 6.

DUI Charge for Harvey Driver

Edith Garcia, 46, of the 16500 block of South Emerald Avenue in Harvey, was charged with driving under the influence, DUI with a blood-alcohol level greater than 0.08, driving without insurance and improper lane use, according to a report. Garcia was stopped at about 12:26 a.m. near the intersection of 17th Street and Halsted Street after an officer saw his Ford Taurus cross the road lines. Police reported smelling a strong odor of alcohol on the driver's breath. Garcia took field sobriety tests and a breath test before she was arrested. She is due in Markham court on May 29.

Assault Charge For Alleged Threat

Carlos Cochran, 41, of the 14200 block of Kedzie Avenue in Blue Island, was charged with assault, according to a report. He is accused of threatening the manager of a restaurant after he was asked to stop asking customers for money. He was stopped by police at about 1:32 p.m. 194 W. Joe Orr Rd.

Trespassing Charges

Donald E. Stone, 60, of the 17000 block of Wood Street in Harvey; and Michael Jones, 55, of the 1400 block of Emerald Avenue in Chicago Heights, were charged with trespassing, according to a report. The two were found sitting in a parked car near Olympic Village Apartments, 1 Olympic Village. A security guard had asked them why there were sitting in the parking lot but they did not respond. Police were called and the pair were arrested. They are due in Markham court on April 24.
