'Damage Is Massive' After Factory Fire, Chicago Heights Company Vows To Rebuild
Metal manufacturer Morgan Li pledged it will "do everything we can to rebuild what was lost."
CHICAGO HEIGHTS β A major fire at a metal manufacturing facility early Monday morning has been extinguished, Chicago Heights Mayor David Gonzalez said this afternoon.
Crews responded to the fire at Morgan Li in the 1100 block of Washington Street just before 6 a.m., and the blaze was extinguished by noon, Gonzalez said in a statement.
The blaze engulfed the warehouse operated by Morgan Li, a metal fabricator with four other locations.

Late Monday morning, the company issued a statement saying no one was injured and vowing to rebuild.
"While the damage of the fire is massive, the most important thing is that all our people are safe and accounted for," the company said.

"Morgan Li is a family-owned and run business and we consider all our employees an extension of our family; we will do everything we can to rebuild what was lost and continue to support our people and the entire Chicago Heights community,"it said in the statement.
Gonzalez said the cause of the fire is under investigation.
