SUNDAY, JULY 17
Corona and Bacardi Party at Jewel
Eric R. Manuel, 26, of Country Club Hills, was arrested and charged with retail theft after an employee at the Jewel-Osco at 2500 Lincoln Hwy. detained Manuel, saying he tried to steal two 24-bottle cases of Corona and two bottles of Bacardi. Manuel told police he had walked beyond the last point of sale without paying, but he said he told the employee he could pay for the alcohol, the report said.
You'll Have to Arrest Me
Kwame A. Cobb, 42, of Matteson, was arrested and charged with driving on a suspended license after police stopped him on Indiana Avenue for driving with illegal blue headlights on his car, police said. Cobb told police they "should not run his name" because they would have to arrest him, and police found out Cobb had an active warrant out of the Will County Sheriff's Department and that he had a suspended license, the report said.

SATURDAY, JULY 16
Curiously Strong DUI
Pearl Rodriguez, 54, of Hazel Crest, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after being stopped in the 18500 block of Kedzie Avenue after swerving into oncoming traffic and nearly colliding with a police vehicle, according to the report. After being asked several times for her license and proof of insurance, Rodriguez pulled out a container of Altoids breath mints, police said. Rodriguez failed three sobriety tests and was taken into custody, police said.

FRIDAY, JULY 15
The Name Game
Mykel N. Elam, 29, of University Park, was stopped near the intersection of Lincoln Highway and Division in Chicago Heights for ignoring a stop sign, police said. Upon being asked for her name and birth date, Elam gave a different name and had a hard time thinking of her date of birth, police said. After further questioning, Elam revealed to police she was lying about her name because she had warrants out for her arrest, the report said. Elam also admitted to having marijuana in her vehicle, police said. She was arrested and charged with possession of cannabis, obstructing identification, driving with a suspended license and failure to yield emerging from a private driveway.
THURSDAY, JULY 14
The Pampered Thief?
Clark S. Herkes, 42, of Park Forest, was arrested and charged with retail theft after an employee at the Walgreens at 20950 Governors Hwy. told police he caught Herkes stealing. Herkes took two boxes of L'Oreal Paris Hair Colour Gel, one bottle of Tecnu Medicated Scrub and one Asian Accents Pachira Tree, according to the report.
WEDNESDAY, JULY 13
Suspended License
Robert J. Mitchell, 28, of Park Forest, was arrested and charged with driving on a suspended license after police stopped him for having an expired license plate. Mitchell also had a warrant out of Blue Island for a separate driving while suspended charge, police said.
