Olympia Fields Police Blotter: Man Charged With Assault After Threatening Police

No Licenses
- Herman Carcelli, 49, of Chicago Heights, was arrested and charged with driving without a valid license and not wearing a seat belt, according to police.
- Jorge Gonzalez, 21, of Posen, was arrested and charged with driving without a valid license and not wearing a seat belt, police said.
- Rodney Mosley, 39, of Griffith, IN, was arrested and charged with driving on a revoked license and improper lane use, according to police.
Suspended Licenses
- Tiffany Jones, 35, of Chicago Heights, was arrested and charged with driving with a suspended license and driving with an obstructed view, police said.
- Rakim Craig, 20, of Matteson was arrested and charged with driving with a suspended license and driving with a light out, police said.
DUI
William D. Merrick, 29, of Homewood, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after being stopped near the intersection of Western Avenue and Vollmer Road in connection with speeding and crossing the center dividing line, police said. Merrick did not finish a "One Leg Stand" sobriety test, and said he just wanted to go to his girlfriend's house, according to police. When asked to take a "Walk and Turn" test, Merrick said, "I am not doing anything because I feel I will be incriminating myself," according to reports.
friday, feb. 18Assaulting Police
Larry Francis, 35, of Calumet City, was arrested and charged with assault after police said they picked him up from St. James Hospital in Olympia Fields because a security guard was suspicious he was drunk or high. Police said they took Francis to his girlfriend's house in Olympia Fields, but he became irritated when he did not have the keys. When his girlfriend arrived at the scene, police said they advised Francis not to approach her. Francis then walked toward a police corporal and said, "I'm going to kick your ass," according to reports.
