On Their Game: Rich Central Tennis Tandem White and Whitten Are Quite the Pair
Rich Central's Rhejass White and Brandi Whitten pulled out a gutsy extra set win in No. 1 doubles play against Kankakee on Tuesday.
Rich Central tennis coach Barbra Edwards wanted to mix things up against Kankakee. Luckily for her, putting together her conference tandem of Rhejass White and Brandi Whitten against the Kays' first doubles team enabled the Olympians to get a stellar effort and notch a victory, too.
Against the Kays, Whitten and White took the first set 6-2, but dropped the second set 7-6, forcing an extra set.
During the lengthy third set, the teams traded blows before White and Whitten pulled away for the 7-4 set victory and took the match 6-2, 7-6, 7-4. The win put the Olympians over the top for a 3-2 victory over the Kays at Rich Central.
