Police Blotter: Attempted Fist Bump or Battery?
Chicago Heights police reports, Feb. 24-25.

SATURDAY, FEB. 25
DUI
Rafael Vega Cosme, 29, of the 100 block of Broadway Avenue, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after police stopped him at a gas station on Halsted Street for speeding, according to the report. As police approached his vehicle, Cosme said "What do you want," according to the report. After smelling alcohol, police performed sobriety tested and asked Cosme if he had been drinking, to which he responded, "Yeah." Cosme did not pass the sobriety tests and was taken into custody, police said.

Attacked by a Truck Driver?
A 32-year-old Dolton man told police he was at Diversified Recovery in Chicago Heights retrieving his property from a car that had been recently repossessed when he got into an argument with the tow truck driver that repossessed the car. The man said during the argument the driver struck him in the arm with a closed fist, according to the report. The tow truck driver told police he had simply stuck his fist out in a gesture of good faith when the man jumped back and accused him of battery. Upon watching surveillance of the interaction, police said they saw no battery take place.
Dine and Dash
An employee of Pepe's Restaurant in Chicago Heights told police a 20-year-old man, around 5-feet, 3-inches tall, ordered and ate $12.31 worth of food and left the restaurant. When asked to return and pay, the man fled southbound toward 14th Place, according to the report.

Garage Tagged
A 92-year-old Chicago Heights man told police an unknown person painted graffiti on his Otto Boulevard garage. The symbol was about 4-feet tall and 2-feet wide, according to the report.
Lady's Lifted
An employee of Lady's First in Chicago Heights told police two women took an unknown amount of clothing and walked out the main door of the store without paying. The two left in a black pickup truck, according to the report.
