Police Blotter: Aurelio's Pizza Gets Strange Visitor

Scoping Aurelio's?

An employee at told police that a man called the business asking to speak to the general manager and wanting to know the hours of operation. After being told the hours and learning the location does not have a general manager, the man visited the business and yelled obscenities at the employee, fleeing when the employee threatened to call the police, according to the report. The employee told police the man appeared to be "scoping the inside of the business."

Battery, Cut Tires, Broken Windows

A 39-year-old Chicago Heights woman told police she was in an argument with her husband when he pushed and choked her. When the 43-year-old husband tried to leave in his car, the woman cut his tires, according to the report. The angry husband then broke two of the car's windows and left the area on foot, according to the report. The woman refused medical treatment, police said.

Liquor Store Insanity

Cortez L. Torver, 37, who is homeless, according to police, was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and trespassing. An employee at told police Torver was throwing merchandise around and yelling obscenities. Torver was already not allowed in the store for previous incidents, according to the report.

Stolen Entertainment

A 27-year-old Chicago Heights woman told police a 42-inch flat-screen TV and a Blu-ray DVD player were stolen from the living room of her 15th Street apartment sometime between 7:40 a.m. and 8 p.m. Police discovered pry marks on the rear service door to the apartment, according to the report.

Violent Phone Threats

A 46-year-old Chicago Heights woman told police she had been receiving harassing phone calls from a blocked number from Jan. 2 to Jan. 9. The female caller told the woman she was going to get her dad's gun and shoot her, according to the report.

Concrete Blocks in Car

A 31-year-old University Park man told police he was visiting his girlfriend at Olympic Village Apartments when he discovered the windshield and passenger door window of his car were broken. He also noticed that three of his tires were cut and two concrete blocks were inside his car, according to the report. The man told police he suspected his girlfriend's ex is the culprit.
