Police Blotter: Funny Money at White Castle, Sink Stolen from Dee's

FRIDAY, JAN. 13

DUI

Zachary A. Cliff, 20, of the 100 block of Kingston Place, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after police stopped him near the intersection of 14th Street and Western Avenue, according to the report.

Domestic AssaultΒ 

Jerrell Sparkman, 18, of the 400 block of West Hickory Street, was arrested and charged with domestic assault. Police said they heard him threaten to beat his girlfriend's head in.Β

One Real, One Counterfeit

Jeffery Reed, 19, of the 14400 block of South Hoxie in Burnham, was arrested and charged with deceptive practice after an employee of the White Castle on 14th Street told police Reed placed two orders. He paid for the first with a real $20 bill, but paid for the second with a counterfeit $20 bill, according to police.

DUI

Thomas W. Marconi, 22, of the 1800 block of Eagle Circle in New Lenox, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after he was stopped near the intersection of Joe Orr Road and Coolidge Street, according to police.

TUESDAY, JAN. 10

Threats at the Liquor Store

Cortez L. Tarver, 37, who is homeless, was arrested and charged with trespassing and assault after he entered Center Liquors on 14th Street, pounded on the counter and said to an employee "I'm gonna kill you ... then me," according to the report. Tarver had already been banned from the store, according to the report.

TV Stolen

A 44-year-old Chicago Heights man told police he left his 15th Street apartment to take his child to school and came back to see his 42-inch flatscreen TV missing from his bedroom dresser. The man then noticed his kitchen window smashed and damaged around the frame, according to the report.Β 

Including the Kitchen Sink

An employee of Dee's Creative Cookin' on Ashland Avenue told police a stainless steel three-compartment sink was stolen from a chain-link storage cage in the alley behind the building. Police noticed a section of the cage had been cut and rolled back, according to the report.

Friend or Thief?

A 46-year-old Chicago Heights woman told police her friend came over to her place and took her car keys, apartment keys and $100 while she was sleeping. The woman said her car was missing and that she believed the suspect may have taken it to the north side of Chicago, according to the report.
