Police Blotter: Husband Punches Wife, Fights With Son

SATURDAY, MAY 12
Husband Fights His Family
A 30-year-old Chicago Heights woman told police he was talking to her daughter about household matters when her husband came in and sent her daughter to bed before yelling at the woman. The woman told police she could tell her husband had been drinking and confronted him about it. Thatβs when he became angry and hit her in the face with a closed fist, according to the report. The womanβs son then entered the room and fought with the husband, who then left with his brother. Police saw swelling on the womanβs cheek and lip, but she refused all medical attention, according to the report.
Shots Fired
A 37-year-old Chicago Heights man told police he heard 10 to 15 shots fired outside his Hickory Street home, with one sounding like it hit his wall. Police located a hole from a projectile on the manβs wall, but were unable to locate a bullet or projectile, according to the report.

Public Intoxication
Eddie L. Riley, 28, of the 300 block of Standish Street, was arrested and charged with public intoxication after police saw him in the 500 block of Andover Street yelling and βcausing a disturbanceβ on the sidewalk, according to the report. Police smelled alcohol on Riley and asked him why he was acting erratically and if he had been drinking. He responded, βMan, Yeah I been drinking,β according to the report.
Fire Starter
A 49-year-old Chicago Heights woman told police a 25-year-old man threatened to break out all of the windows to her house and set the house on fire. When police arrived the man ran into a house on the same street, but when police checked the house and the area, the man was nowhere to be found, according to the report. The woman told police this has been an ongoing problem.

Husband Scares His Wife
Disrealy G. Ferrlena, 30, of the 100 block of Serena Drive, was arrested and charged with aggravated assault and reckless driving after police saw him on 12th and Halsted attempting to run his wifeβs vehicle off the road, according to the report. Ferrlena then sped down several streets, including Halsted, Parkside, and Otto Blvd., refusing to stop for police, according to the report. Ferrlena was finally stopped on Otto and placed into custody, police said. The wife told police Ferrlena had waited for her to leave another womanβs home and had been trying to cut her off and force her off the road.
