Police Blotter: Moisturizer Thief Gets Topless

Moisturizer Man

An employee of Walgreens in the 1400 block of Western Avenue told police a 40-year-old man came into the store and placed an unknown amount of Olay Professional U.V. Moisturizer in his pants pockets before attempting to leave the store. The employee confronted the man and was given two containers of moisturizer, according to the report. The man then said, "I ain't givin' you the rest of this stuff back" before taking off his shirt, wrapping it around his hand and fleeing the store, according to the report.Β 

Drug Possession

Joseph Howell, 35, of the 3000 block of Port Sheldon in Hudsonville, MI, was arrested and charged with possession of less than 30 grams of cannabis after police stopped him for driving in reverse for nearly about one block, according to the report. After getting permission from Howell to search the vehicle, police found a bag containing a leafy substance, which later tested positive for marijuana, according to the report. Police tagged the marijuana into evidence and brought Howell up on an additional charge of improper backing in roadway, according to the report.

Pinky Ring Theft

A 51-year-old Chicago Heights man told police two gold bracelets and a pinky ring were taken from his home sometime between February and June. The man told police there was no forced entry into the house but he had guests stay over from time to time. The jewelry is worth $750, according to the report.

Drinking a Beer

Timothy Wehmeyer, 30, of the 1500 block of Norfolk Road in Crete, was arrested and charged with pedestrian under the influence of alcohol after police saw him with an open beer in his hand in the 1200 block of Otto Blvd., according to the report. Wehmeyer told police "I'm just drinking a beer, sir," before he was taken into custody.

New Girlfriend

A 43-year-old Chicago Heights woman told police her ex-husband brought his new girlfriend to her house, who threatened her by displaying a handgun. The two fled in a white Honda Accord, according to the report. The woman told police this is an "ongoing problem."
