Blame it on the Booze
Eric Kingery, 34, of the first block of East Holbrook Road, was arrested and charged with criminal damage to property after his mother told police he damaged her bedroom door when he forced his way in, according to the report. The mother told police Kingery was intoxicated and knew that was where she hid the alcohol.Β
Don't Forget the Keys
A 31-year-old Palos Hills man told police he parked his car at the Star Motel in the 400 block of West 14th Street and checked in for the night, inadvertently leaving his car keys in the ignition with the door unlocked, according to the report. The man awoke in the morning, realized his folly and went outside to find his car was gone, according to the report.

DUI
Wesley A. Wakefield, 30, of the 100 block of Lester Road in Park Forest, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after police stopped him in the first block of Olympic Village at 12:41 a.m., according to the report.Β

Gun Fired at Woman
A 22-year-old Chicago Heights woman told police she was in the open field in the 400 block of 16th Street when she saw eight men standing around nearby. The woman identified one of the men only as "Fabo," and said she saw him brandish a handgun before firing multiple shots in her direction, according to the report. The woman ran into a nearby apartment to escape the gunfire, police said. The woman told police she did not know 'Fabo' personally.
Passenger Attracts Bat Attack
A 20-year-old Chicago Heights woman told police she was in her car near the intersection of 15th Place and Donovan Drove when a 35-year-old Chicago Heights woman attacked her and her car with a baseball bat. The victim said the attacker was going after her passenger for an unknown reason, but the passenger refused to cooperate with police, according to the report. No injuries or damage to the car was reported.
