TUESDAY, MAY 10

Bad Neighbor Defies and Amplifies

Michelle J. Guerrero, 25, of the 200 block of East 23rd Street, was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct after a neighbor told police loud music was coming from Guerrero's home. Police initially told Guerrero to turn down her music and she complied, but she turned up the music louder than before after police left, according to a neighbor. When police returned, Guerrero turned off all the lights and closed the doors and windows, according to the reports. The neighbor said that after police left again, Guerrero started throwing rocks at the neighbor's house. Police then returned for the third time and placed Guerrero in custody.

Man of Many Names

Jesse A. Taylor, 39, of the first block of West 14th Place, was arrested and charged with obstructing a peace officer after he lied about his identity to a police officer upon being questioned for drinking alcohol in public, according to reports. Police said Taylor first said his name was Antonio Adams, then Antwon Adams, before finally admitting he did not want to give his real name.

Mauled Maliciously By Mimi

A 21-year-old Chicago Heights woman told police she was approached in front of Unlimited Liquors, 432 W. 14th Pl., by a woman known as "Mimi," and was punched in the head 20 times with a closed fist. The woman was treated for her injuries at St. James Hospital, according to police.

Grouchy Grass Cutter

A 49-year-old Chicago Heights man told police he was leaving his residence when he saw a tenant cutting the grass, at which time the tenant turned off the lawnmower and said, "What are you looking at? Do you want to get shot?" Police were unable to locate the tenant upon arrival, according to reports.

For a Burglar's Viewing Pleasure

A 53-year-old Chicago Heights man told police he left his home at 8 a.m. and returned at 4 p.m. to find a door in his residence was opened. Upon walking through the home with an officer, the man said his 32-inch flat-screen television was missing, as well as a Blu-ray disc player and a regular DVD player.

Dropped Like a Rock (of Cocaine)

Tevin S. Watkins, 18, of the 300 block of Nassau Street in Park Forest, was arrested and charged with felony possession of a controlled substance after police said they saw him drop a clear plastic bag of a rock-like white substance, which tested positive for cocaine, on the 1500 block of Donovan Drive.

Respect Other People's Relatives

Two Chicago Heights men, ages 18 and 19, told police they were on the 100 block of West Main Street when three vehicles pulled up to them. The men said a person got out of one of the vehicles and said, "Who disrespected my aunt and called her a (expletive)?" After one of the two men admitted to the transgression, they were attacked and a fight ensued between the two men and three attackers, according to the report. One of the victims suffered a minor injury but refused medical treatment, according to the report.

Gas Station Brick Battering

A 38-year-old Steger man told police he was getting out of his vehicle at the Shell gas station, 1401 S. State St., when an unknown man struck him in the head with a brick and then fled. The man suffered a large laceration on the back of his head, which was later bandaged in the emergency room at St, James Hospital.

DUI

Eriel G. Williams, 28, of the 10000 block of South Yates Boulevard in Chicago, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after he was stopped on 14th Street for going more than 50 mph over the speed limit, police said.
