Police Investigating Shooting Near Liquor Store

Gunshots were heard by neighbors near 23rd Street and Chicago Road in Chicago Heights late Friday night.

Chicago Heights police are investigating a shooting near the intersection of 23rd Street and Chicago Road.

Officers taped off the parking lot near K&N Market and Wine, 2301 Chicago Rd. and had blocked the southbound lane of Chicago Road Friday night.

Neighbors said they heard 4 or 5 loud gunshots after 9 p.m.

Four ambulances were called for multiple gunshot victims, according to an unconfirmed report.
