Standout Students and a New Super: Announced

Bloom Trail Student Kirstyn Hill received the Women Everywhere Project Scholarship given by the Circuit Court of Cook County and sponsored by the Women Everywhere Project during a recent event at the Markham Courthouse.

The purpose of the Women Everywhere event was to expose high school girls to the legal system and other careers and provide them with a courthouse tour and the opportunity to interact with judges, bailiffs, court reporters, lawyers and other court personnel.

Marian Catholic High School honored 69 sophomores, juniors and seniors at their annual Academic Breakfast on April 28. Students honored have earned a grade-point average of 4.0 or higher in all semesters at Marian.

Parents, grandparents and siblings attended, watching as each student was recognized by Sister Kathleen Anne Tait, O.P., Principal, Dr. Shirley Morris, Vice Principal of Academics, and Mr. John Kozojed, Vice Principal of Student Activities.

Craig Doster was appointed as the new supt. of Flossmoor School District 161 during the April 27 Board of Education meeting.

Doster is the current supt. of Ottawa School District 141 and has been since 2006. Prior roles include positions as principal and grade school teacher. HeΒ has aΒ master’s degree in educational administration from Illinois State University.
