FBI Arrests UIC Student in University of Chicago Threat

A 21-year-old UIC student — described by his uncle as a “cream puff” — posted an online threat to kill 16 white men at the University of Chicago campus on Monday, according to the FBI, in retaliation for the 16 shots a Chicago police officer fired into a black teenager on the South Side last year. The college student was arrested Monday after the FBI tracked him down. His threat to shoot “white devils,” posted on WorldWideHipHop.com, led University of Chicago to close campus and advise all students to stay home or in their dorms.

Meanwhile, the police officer who shot that teen-ager, 17-year-old Laquan McDonald, appeared in court Monday at noon, where a judge watched a police dash-cam video that shows him firing the fatal shots. Jason Van Dyke, 37, who surrendered to prosecutors last Tuesday and spent Thanksgiving week in jail, posted bond late Tuesday.
