Trials, Judges and Nail Techs: Announced

This week there were a couple of calls for volunteers and positive things to say about learning software and good ol' "Glee." Check out the top announcements from this past week.

The Sixth Municipal District Court of the Circuit Court of Cook County in Markham held its second annual Mock Trial Competition in February. For the second straight year, Marian Catholic High School won first place. 

The Bloom Township Center is looking for volunteers to assist with an upcoming Mother/Daughter event. Specifically anyone interested or talented in the beauty/cosmetology field, as they will be providing beauty services to the guests.  In exchange for your services, you may photograph your work for your portfolio.

The Cook County Clerk's Office is recruiting election judges to serve in suburban polling places.  To be a judge on April 5 apply online at www.cookcountyclerk.com.

Hawkes allows Prairie State College students to practice randomized problems and gives them instant feedback, such as suggesting possible errors, before allowing them to perform the work for a grade. Students also can access the Hawkes software on campus or from home for additional practice.

Local school-age children will learn and perform songs from the hit TV show “Glee” during the four-day camp, from June 20 to 24, at GSU. The camp concludes with a one-night-only show at 7 p.m. Friday, June 24, at GSU’s Center for the Performing Arts.
