Weekly Recap: Tough Questions and City Elections
Chicago Heights Patch stories, Feb. 28-Mar. 5

What a week! We officially started our election coverage by adding a new page called "Election Central 2011." This is where you can go to see info on every race, including profiles of some of the candidates.
We had plenty of comments from Patch readers about our first edition of "The Tough Questions" featuring Bloom Township High School District 206 Supt. Glen Giannetti.
There was also an outpour of support and sympathy for the family of murder victim Derrick Bell as Chicago Heights Patch gave updates on who was being charged and what happened at the scene of the homicide.

What's 80th District State Rep. Anthony DeLuca's position on same-sex marriage? He told Chicago Heights clergy exactly how he feels about the topic.
Patch also explained why Facebook may be keeping you from seeing some of your friends in you newsfeed, and we provided a short video for how to fix that problem.

In sports, it was a rough week for the Heights in boys basketball. Both Marian Catholic and Bloom suffered heartbreaking losses.
Oh, and in case you missed it, we debuted a shiny new column called "Remarkable Residents." Our first feature was a busy lady named Audrey Gyger. This woman is in her 70s and still does it all.
