• Amarillo man among 16 others honored with Carnegie Medal for heroism (myhighplains.com) — Two St. Louis men are being honored for pulling a pilot from a burning plane that crashed upside down in a Columbia field, costing him his lower legs but saving his life. Their rescue is among 17 acts of extraordinary heroism across North America recognized with the Carnegie Medal and financial grants. 
• Detroit City signs experienced defender Aedan Stanley (uslchampionship.com) — Aedan Stanley, a Columbia native and former Saint Louis FC Academy standout, has signed a two-year deal with Detroit City FC in the USL Championship. The 25-year-old defender, coming off an ACL injury, brings extensive pro experience from Indy Eleven, Miami FC, Austin FC, and Duke University, plus U.S. youth national team caps.
