1 Found Dead Inside Home Following Fire In Crystal Lake

CRYSTAL LAKE, IL — One person was found dead inside a home following a fire Sunday afternoon in Crystal Lake.

The Crystal Lake Fire Rescue Department responded to the blaze in the 0 to 100 block of Della Street in Crystal Lake at about 3:20 p.m. Sunday. When they arrived, they found smoke coming from the single-family residence, according to a news release from the fire department.

When firefighters entered the home they found smoky condition and a small fire, according to the news release. While battling the blaze, firefighters found one person who was dead in the area of the fire.

Fire crews quickly put out the fire, and the cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
