3 Men Arrested After Man Found Dead At Three Oaks Recreation Area
According to a news release from the Crystal Lake Police Department, 51-year-old Robert L. Krikie Jr. has been ID'd as the victim.
CRYSTAL LAKE, IL — Three men are facing charges after a man was found dead, floating in water in a secluded wooded area on the west side of Three Oaks Recreation Area Tuesday afternoon. According to a news release from the Crystal Lake Police Department, 51-year-old Robert L. Krikie Jr., who is listed as transient, was identified as the victim in Tuesday's death investigation. After receiving a 911 call, police officers went to the area of the 6100 block of Northwest Highway at 2:59 p.m. Tuesday, and found the man in the water, according to the news release.
As a result of the investigation, Michael M. Miller, 33, Devin J. Petersen, 23, and William P. Linke, 50, all listed as transient, were arrested, the news release said.
According to police, Miller faces 5 counts of felony first degree murder, felony robbery, two counts of felony aggravated battery, felony concealment of homicidal death, and felony mob action.

Petersen and linke are each facing 3 counts of felony first degree murder, felony robbery, two counts of felony aggravated battery, felony concealment of a weapon, and felony mob action, police said.
All three men were taken to the McHenry County Jail to await a bond hearing.

According to the ongoing investigation, police said this was an isolated event as all four men were acquaintances.
