33 Tickets Issued During St. Paddy’s Day Detail In Crystal Lake
The law enforcement campaign took place March 7 through 18.
CRYSTAL LAKE, IL — The Crystal Lake Police Department recently completed its participation in the
Illinois Department of Transportation’s St. Patrick’s Day enforcement campaign, according to police.
Law enforcement agencies throughout Illinois participated in this effort from March 7 through 18 with the hopes of reducing highway fatalities by getting impaired drivers off the roads, deterring dangerous driving behaviors and getting more people buckled up, police said.
During the mobilization, police stopped 35 motorists for traffic violations and issued a 38 traffic citations, which included: 15 citations for speeding, 15 citations for distracted driving and 3 citations for seat belts, according to the news release.

The recent law enforcement campaign was made possible by federal highway safety funds
administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation, according to the news release.
