76-Year-Old Naperville Woman Critical After McHenry Car Crash
Authorities say the Naperville woman ran a stop sign for an unknown reason, reports say.
MCHENRY COUNTY, IL — A 76-year-old woman is in critical condition after a car crash Wednesday afternoon, according to reports. The Naperville woman was involved in a two-vehicle accident, the Daily Herald reported.
Police responded around 3:45 p.m. to the scene of the crash at Route 176 and Dunham Road, the report said.
According to a Northwest Herald report, the woman was driving north on Dunham Road and for an unknown reason didn't yield at the stop sign, driving into traffic.

A 45-year-old Union man was driving a garbage truck west on Route 176 when he hit the 76-year-old woman's Subaru, the NW Herald reported authorities as saying.
They both went off the road, each hitting a guardrail and a tree, the Daily Herald reported.

The woman was airlifted to Javon Bea Hospital in critical condition. The man sustained minor injuries.
Authorities closed the roadway and have since reopened it. The crash is still under investigation.
