Accident-Prone Intersection Sees Another Crash This Past Week
Many have been injured in collisions at the intersection of Route 14 and West Main Street in Cary in recent years.
CARY, IL — An accident-prone intersection in Cary saw another collision this past week, which resulted in one woman needing medical care at a local hospital.
The site of the collisions is located at a curve in the roadway at Route 14 in Cary. The intersection includes a green right-turn arrow for those heading west on Route 14 and then a red or green traffic signal for those planning to head straight onto West Main Street into downtown Cary from westbound 14.
This past week a westbound vehicle on Route 14 did not heed the red traffic signal and proceeded onto West Main Street, colliding with an eastbound vehicle that had a green traffic signal, authorities said.

Scott Naydenoff, deputy chief of support services for the Cary Police Department, said a woman in the vehicle that was headed east on Route 14 prior to the Tuesday morning collision needed to be extricated from her car "due to her door being damaged." She was taken to a local hospital with injuries that are not considered life-threatening.
The driver of the westbound vehicle, as well as a passenger in that car, were not injured, he said.
