CARY, IL — A newlywed couple is $3 million richer after winning it big in the lottery this past week.
The couple bought the scratch-off ticket from Volume Liquors, located at 382 Northwest Highway in Cary. The lucky winner bought a $30 Titanium Black 7s scratch-off ticket because the game was called Titanium 7s and his birth is 7-7-77, according to a news release from the Illinois Lottery.
The winner, who requested to stay anonymous, said he bought four instant tickets and the last one he scratched off ended up being a winner.

“I was definitely in shock but my wife’s reaction was total disbelief, and it remained that way until the day we claimed our prize," he said.
The couple has since began planning what they will do with their newfound windfall, which will include saving for their children's college funds, "beef up our retirement accounts and go on more regular family vacations."
