Deputies found the vehicle, which was abandoned at a business just northwest of Pepper Road. Police determined the vehicle belonged to Little, who was wanted in connection with a murder that happened in Chicago and who'd fled police earlier in the day, according to the news release from the sheriff's office.

Video surveillance from a nearby business showed Little getting out of the crashed vehicle with a woman, who was later identified as Sanchez, police said. Both fled on foot.

At about 2:10 p.m., police found Sanchez at a gas station in the area of Route 14 and Kelsey Road. Detectives determined Sanchez hid a gun inside the gas station, and local police and officers from the Chicago Police Department found the gun hidden inside a bathroom air vent, according to a news release.

She was arrested, and police later determined the gun hidden by Sanchez belonged to Little. The gun appears to be the same gun used in the Chicago homicide, police said.

At about 6:20 p.m., police found Little. He fled when confronted and went into an industrial building occupied by Fox Valley Hotrods, located in the 21900 block of Pepper Road in Lake Barrington, according to a news release. Police were able to contain him to an office room in the building, and deputies safely evacuated employees from the building.

The sheriff's office SWAT team responded and began negotiating with Little. At about 8:15 a.m., Little was taken into custody. He has been charged with aggravated unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon.

Little and Sanchez are expected in court this morning. The Lake County State's Attorney's Office is expected to file petitions to detain Little and Sanchez pending further court proceedings.

Additional charges in Lake County are possible, and charges are also expected in Cook County.
