Coroner IDs Man, 22, Found Dead In Fiery Car
The one-vehicle collision happened on March 3 near Woodstock.
WOODSTOCK, IL — Two weeks following a fiery crash near Woodstock authorities have released the identity of 25-year-old man found dead inside a burning car.
The man has been identified as Nathaniel Hofmann, 25, of Wonder Lake, according to a news release from the McHenry County Coroner's Office. Dental records were used to positively identify Hofmann, Olivia Zednick, chief deputy coroner for the coroner's office, told Patch.
The Woodstock Fire/Rescue District was called to the reported vehicle fire in the 8200 block of Mason Hill Road in unincorporated Woodstock at about 4:50 p.m. on March 3, according to a news release from the Woodstock Fire/Rescue District.

Authorities learned the car had crashed into a tree and started on fire. While firefighters were working to put out the blaze they found one person dead inside the vehicle.
The coroner's office is working with the McHenry County Sheriff's Office to investigate the death.
