Coroner IDs McHenry Man, 35, Killed In Crash

MCHENRY COUNTY, IL — A 35-year-old McHenry man killed in a single-vehicle crash has been identified as Peter Roberts.

The McHenry County Coroner's Office says Roberts died from blunt force injuries to the head and chest areas, according to preliminary results from an autopsy.

The collision happened in the 13600 block of Kishwaukee Valley Road in Woodstock at about 8 a.m. Tuesday. When emergency crews arrived at the scene of the collision they found a heavily damaged pickup truck that was "wrapped around a tree" in the yard of a home, according to a news release from the fire district.

Roberts was pronounced dead at the scene. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
