Crystal Lake Man Faces Predatory Criminal Sexual Assault Charges

CRYSTAL LAKE, IL — A Crystal Lake man was arrested Tuesday on accusations of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child, five days after a concerned parent made a report with the Huntley Police Department, the McHenry County Sheriff's office said, in a news release. Jonathan Gomes, 33, faces three counts of felony predatory criminal sexual assault of a child, stemming from an investigation by the Huntley Police Department, according to the news release.
Thursday's report led to the investigation by Huntley police, during which authorities learned the incidents took place at a home in the 7400 block of Pingree Road in Crystal Lake.
An investigation was initiated by the McHenry County Sheriff’s office Criminal Investigation Division, leading to accusations Gomes had abused a minor in his home, according to the news release. Gomes was arrested and taken to the McHenry County Correctional Facility. According to the sheriff's office website, Gomes made bond and was released Wednesday evening. Court documents list his hearing as scheduled for Friday.
