New Crystal Lake Park Has Been Named

CRYSTAL LAKE, IL — A new park in Crystal Lake has been named.

The new 10-acre park site will be located south of the Lakewood Village Wastewater Treatment Facility on Haligus Road in the village of Lakewood, according to a news release from the Crystal Lake Park District. The park district received more than 200 park name submissions.

Following a public vote and approval by the Crystal Lake Park Board of Commissioners the name Lakewood Meadows Park, which was submitted by Diane Ayers of Lakewood, has been picked as the park's name, according to the park district news release. Ayers received a $100 park district gift card for her submission.
