Early Voting Is Off To Slow Start In McHenry County

Early voting gets underway in McHenry County. Election Day is Tuesday.

MCHENRY COUNTY, IL — Early voting for this spring election is underway in McHenry County, and Election Day is Tuesday.

As of Monday, 2,581 voters have made it out to early voting sites to cast their ballot, and 1,034 voters have cast their ballot by mail, Joseph J. Tirio, McHenry County Clerk and Recorder, told Patch on Tuesday.

Historically, spring local elections have a much lower voter turnout than fall statewide or presidential elections. For those interested in voting early can do so through March 31, which is Monday.
