MCHENRY COUNTY, IL— A 50-year-old Cary man, who is a former police officer, has been sentenced to prison for violating an order of protection.
Michael D. Seyller, who had a prior conviction of aggravated domestic battery, was sentenced to two years in prison for the felony offense of violating an order of protection, according to a news release from the McHenry County State's Attorney's Office. Seyller was found guilty after a bench trial earlier this year.
As part of his order of protection, Seyller was prohibited from having any contact with his former girlfriend, according to the news release. Prosecutors say on April 4, Seyller had a conversation with a third party where he threatened his former girlfriend and asked that person communicate that threat to her.
