Harvard Man Sentenced For Meth Possession, Sex Offender Charges
The man also pleaded guilty to aggravated domestic battery stemming from claims he strangled a minor he was dating in 2018, officials said.

MCHENRY COUNTY, IL — A Harvard man has been sentenced to nine years behind bars in the Illinois Department of Corrections after pleading guilty to several charges including possession of 100 to 400 grams of methamphetamine and failure to register as a sex offender, according to a release from the McHenry County State's Attorney's Office. Patrick D. Kenneally, McHenry County State’s Attorney, announced that Honorable Judge Michael Coppedge handed down the sentence for Noe Olivares-Castaneda, 24, who also pleaded guilty to aggravated domestic battery stemming from accusations he strangled a minor he was dating on Nov. 21, 2018, the release said.
During an investigation into the strangulation accusations, law enforcement found out Olivares-Castaneda, a sex offender, had more than 100 grams of methamphetamine in his possession, and also failed to register his address with the Harvard Police Department, according to the state's attorney's office.
According to the release, the cases were investigated by the McHenry County Sheriff’s Department and the Harvard Police Department, and prosecuted by Robert Ladd and Brian Miller of the McHenry County State’s Attorney’s Office.
