Heavy Snow Temporarily Closes Crystal Lake Ice Rink
The main and west beach rinks will remain closed until snow is cleared and conditions are assessed.

CRYSTAL LAKE, IL — The ice rinks that opened on Crystal Lake last week will close temporarily after Monday night's snow storm.
The Crystal Lake Park District on Tuesday announced the rinks on the main and west beaches will remain closed until snow is cleared from the rinks and the ice is assessed for flooding.
Rink updates are posted to RainOutLine, a website the city uses to share hours and seasonal updates for its outdoor facilities.

The rink, at 300 Lakeshore Drive, opened last week and is complete with public restrooms and lighting from 4 to 9 p.m.
The park district noted it does not separate the rink to provide room for free skaters and ice hockey players. Still, skaters tend to divide themselves into separate sections, the park district said.

Snow is expected to exit the forecast by late Tuesday, giving way to mostly clear to sunny skies the rest of the week. The National Weather Service predicts chances of snow will enter the forecast this weekend.
