CARY, IL — The owner of Cary Dairy will be facing off against incumbent Mark Kownick for Cary's mayoral seat this spring election.

Randy Scott announced he'd be running for mayor last year. Scott is a former Cary Fire Protection District firefighter who now owns the Cary Dairy at 394 Cary Algonquin Road with his wife, according to Shaw Local News Network. Scott's goal, he told Shaw Local News Network, is to serve one term as mayor and then pass the reigns to someone new.

“If I do the job well enough, I’m not needed anymore,” he said. “The right people will be in the right places.”
