Illinois Enforces Click It or Ticket Campaign

Illinois police made several arrests over the Memorial Day weekend that helped reduce highway fatalities.

From Illinois Dept of Transportation: The McHenry County Sheriff’s Office joined other state and local law enforcement agencies across Illinois to reduce highway fatalities by cracking down on unbuckled motorists and impaired drivers during the Memorial Day holiday.

During the mobilization, the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office issued the following citations / making the following arrests:

  • 2 DUI arrests
  • 7 Driving while license Suspended or Revoked arrests
  • 2 Driving with No Valid Driver’s License arrests
  • 2 Warrant arrests
  • 2 Drug arrests
  • 56 Seat belt citations
  • 38 Speeding citations
  • 24 Electronic communication device citations
  • 21 No insurance citations

This law enforcement mobilization was funded by federal traffic safety funds through the Illinois Department of Transportation and is part of the nationwide “Click It or Ticket” and “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” campaigns. For more information, visit www.idot.illinois.gov.
