Kenneth Drive Fire Causes $150K In Damage: Crystal Lake Fire
The fire is under investigation, but appears to be an accident, according to Crystal Lake and local fire investigators.
CRYSTAL LAKE, IL — The Crystal Lake Fire Rescue Department was called to a fire at a home in the 4900 block of Kenneth Drive in Crystal Lake just after 6:20 p.m. Tuesday. Due to reports regarding the fire, more departments were called to the home, and the first Crystal Lake Fire Rescue crews to get there reported heavy fire coming from the first floor, according to a news release from the fire department.
Crews found flames on the first floor that started in the kitchen, and after putting that fire out, began checking for any flames spreading to other parts of the structure, the news release said.
According to the fire department, the fire was under control 25 minutes after the first crews got there, and thankfully there were no injuries to those who lived at the home or firefighters. The cause of the fire is being investigated by Crystal Lake, Cary and Algonquin fire investigators and appears to be an accident, according to the news release.

The house sustained about an estimated $150,000 in fire, smoke, and water damage, leaving the home uninhabitable, according to the fire department.
The fire department added that Algonquin-Lake in the Hills, Barrington-Countryside, Carpentersville, Cary, Huntley, Marengo, McHenry Township, Nunda Rural, Union, West Dundee, Wonder Lake and Woodstock Fire Protection Districts helped at scene, in addition to the Crystal Lake Police Department and McHenry County Sheriff’s Office.
