Large Police Presence Reported In Crystal Lake

CRYSTAL LAKE, IL — Residents are urged to avoid the area of Briarwood Road and North Avenue Thursday night.

As of 5:30 p.m., there was a heavy police presence reported in the area, according to authorities.

The Lake & McHenry County Scanner is reporting there is currently a standoff at the home and a person with rifle is inside the house. The person pointed the rifle at police and there's been a report of shots fired inside.
