Man Hit By Car, Killed While Crossing Route 12
The 39-year-old Arlington Heights man was killed in the incident near Wauconda Wednesday night.
LAKE COUNTY, IL — A 39-year-old man was killed after he was hit by car while crossing Route 12 near Wauconda Wednesday night, authorities said.
The Lake County Sheriff's Office responded to the incident at about 9 p.m. and found the 39-year-old Arlington Heights man with critical injuries, and no pulse, in the roadway of Route 12 and Old Rand Road.
Authorities say a Toyota Camry, driven by a 68-year-old McHenry man, was headed north on Route 12 and did not see the man, who was attempting to cross Route 12 on foot, according to a news release. The Camry hit the man, who was taken to Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The crash remains under investigation by the Lake County Sheriff’s Office Technical Crash Investigations Team.
