McHenry County Man Gets Prison Time For Sexually Assaulting Child

MCHENRY COUNTY, IL — A McHenry County man has been sentenced to prison time for sexually assaulting a child.

A McHenry County judge sentenced Jason Kupsik, 27, of Woodstock, to nine years in prison. Kupsik was found guilty of predatory criminal sexual assault and aggravated criminal sexual abuse, according to a news release from the McHenry County State's Attorney Office.

In November of 2023, the Woodstock Police Department began investigating a report of sexual assault of a child. As part of that probe, police learned that between January 1, 2023, and November 5, 2023, Kupsik committed acts of sexual penetration and sexual conduct against a female minor child during a time in which the child was under 13 years of age and at a time when Kupsik resided with the minor child, according to authorities.

Kupsik will be required to serve 85 percent of his sentence, according to the news release.
