Oakwood Hills Man Threatens To ‘Put A Round’ In Officer’s Head: Court Records

A man is facing multiple charges after he allegedly battered an Oakwood Hills police officer and said that he was going to “put a round” in the officer’s head during a disturbance call.

Ben M. Albor, 60, of the 1-100 block of Oak Drive in Oakwood Hills, was charged with aggravated battery on a peace officer, two counts of aggravated assault on a peace officer, reckless conduct endangering the safety of another person, disorderly conduct and criminal damage to property.

The Oakwood Hills Police Department responded on December 18 to the 1-100 block of Oak Drive in Oakwood Hills, which is near Cary, for a report of a disturbance in progress.

Police responded after Albor was reportedly pounding on his home’s window and yelling loudly onto the street, according to a criminal complaint filed in McHenry County court.

Albor also reportedly damaged the windshield of a woman’s 2014 Toyota by hitting it with his cane.

Albor came within six feet of responding officers without a mask on and began yelling loudly at them, the complaint said.

The complaint also said that Albor threatened to “put a round” in the officer’s head and then threw a leather knife holster toward the officer which came within inches of striking them.

While officers were trying to arrest Albor, he physically struck one of the officer’s hands, the complaint said.

The man remains held in the McHenry County jail on a $50,000 bond and will need to post $5,000 in order to be released. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for January 8.
