Open House Planned For Crystal Lake's First Hospital

CRYSTAL LAKE, IL — Those wishing to tour Crystal Lake's first hospital will get the chance to do so during a public open house at the Mercyhealth Hospital next weekend.

The much-anticipated $105 million hospital, located at Three Oaks Road and Route 31, will have an emergency department, 13 private inpatient and intensive care suites, four operating rooms, surgery suites and diagnostic services.

Medical center services offered include family medicine, orthopedics and sports medicine, gastroenterology, general surgery, cardiology, cancer care, infusion therapy, chronic pain services, physical therapy, and lab and X-ray services.

The hospital is set to open on July 24, and a public open house will be held on July 15 for those looking to tour the facility.

The event will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and will include a health and wellness expo, live music from the Mercynaries and behind-the-scenes tours of the hospital and clinic as well as the chance to explore the Mercyhealth REACT helicopter, MD-1 emergency response vehicle, occupational health mobile clinic and mobile mammography truck, according to a news release.

There will also be a chance for those stopping out to win door prizes.

The events will happen ahead of hospital's opening on July 24, which officials said has been a long time coming for Crystal Lake residents.

"Most importantly, we are excited to give Crystal Lake residents access to emergency services, which have been severely lacking in Crystal Lake for decades,” Mercyhealth President and CEO Javo Bea said when ground was broken on the facility in June 2021.

“We have been privileged to provide high-quality physician and outpatient care to area residents for many years, and we are excited to take our services to the next level with this new multi-specialty clinic and hospital.”
