Sponable Little League Park Vandalized In Marengo
Police and Marengo-Union Little League members are investigating the recent vandalism.
MARENGO, IL — Marengo-Union Little League is taking action after parts of Sponable Little League Park were vandalized. According to a Facebook post by the organization, cameras are being installed in addition to more patrols by board members and police following the vandalism, including the most recent act involving someone who smashed a piece of plywood into the concession stand window, and attempted to set it on fire.
According to a Facebook response from the organization, board members haven't been to the fields since October, so the vandalism could've taken place at any point between then and this past week.
Marengo-Union Little League asks anyone with information regarding who has vandalized the fields to please contact the Marengo Police Department, and also asks those who live in the area to be on the lookout and report any suspicious activity that you see.
